The Campbell Room occupies a sheltered rural position in the hamlet of Aley, near Over Stowey. The neighbouring village of Nether Stowey, just over a mile away, has a good range of local shops, pubs and a doctor, and is the start of the Coleridge Way long distance footpath. The nearest large towns are Bridgwater (9 miles to the east) and the county town of Taunton (10 miles to the south on the opposite side of the hills).
The Campbell Room can be found on Ordnance Survey Explorer Map 140 Quantock Hills & Bridgwater at grid reference ST 186 381.
The nearest railway stations are at Bridgwater and Taunton - please consult Traveline for times and routes details.
There are busses from Bridgwater town centre to Nether Stowey several times each day and one or two direct busses from Taunton. We have collated further information on a separate local bus services page. Alternatively, a journey by taxi from either station takes about 20 minutes outside the rush hour.
The Campbell Room is easily reached by motorway, via the M5 which passes close to Bridgwater.
The best route is to leave the M5 at Junction 23 or 24 towards Bridgwater. Once in the town, pick up the A39 towards Minehead. After about 7 miles, opposite the Cottage Inn at Keenthorne, take the left fork in the road towards Over Stowey. Drive over 2 crossroads and immediately bear right at the fork in the road. Take the first left towards Adscombe. After about 300m you will come to the Campbell Room lying straight ahead at a small junction. Look for a long white and black building.
Parking is available for 3 cars or 2 minibuses. A further 3 cars can normally be parked in a nearby lay-by.
Our exact Sat Nav GPS coordinates are 51.13670, -3.16400. Alternatively use postcode TA5 1HN or TA5 1HB to provide an approximate location (we are between the two).
