Booking information

While most groups prefer to book accommodation for a weekend, a week, or longer, outside the school holiday periods we do also take bookings for single day or evening events such as short training courses. It is also possible to book the Campbell Room for ‘standby’ purposes in case of poor weather – or to act as an ‘event management headquarters’ or base camp – for events being held in the open on the Quantock Hills.

Whatever your particular need, this page provides the information you need to book the Campbell Room. Please note that advanced booking is essential.

Charges

As a non-profit organisation we are able to keep our charges low. The costs are currently:
 

Standard bookings

• £4.50 per person per night, subject to a minimum charge of £54 per night.

• There is also a £10.00 per day fuel charge to cover gas and electricity.

• A £15.00 per night non-refundable deposit is required.

We may offer a special rate to working parties – please contact us for details.
 

Day or evening bookings

• £4.00 per hour, subject to a minimum of £12.00.

• A £12.00 non-refundable deposit is required.
   

Camping

• £2.00 per head per night, with the use of the toilet and shower block only.

• Adult-supervised groups with small / lightweight tents only.
   

Other Charges

• Showers cost 50p for approximately 7 minutes

• Breakages must be paid for!
   

Badges and T-shirts

If you would like to purchase badges (illustrated on this page) or T-shirts for your group, the charges are:

• Embroidered badges: £1.50 each

• White 100% cotton T-shirts featuring the Campbell Room: from £9.99 each + p&p

Badges are available from the key holder or by post from the Bookings Secretary. If you would like a sample please send us a cheque (payable to the Campbell Room Scout and Guide Centre) and a C5 size (16 x 23 cm / 6 x 9 inch) stamped addressed envelope.

For a quotation for T-shirts, please provide the Bookings Secretary with the quantity required.

 

Booking form

You can download the booking form from our downloads page, but please contact us to make a provisional reservation before posting it, to confirm that the dates you want are available.
 

Timescales

Your deposit must be received within 14 days of your provisional telephone reservation, otherwise we may reallocate your dates to another group.

Your final payment is due one month before arrival at the centre.
